Friendster used to be a huge Web 2.0 celebrity just a year and half ago. But now FaceBook, Twitter, and even LinkedIn have made friendster irrelevant. Sure it’s used by a lot of people, but it has hit a growth snag, while facebook and other site has moved on. Take a look at friendster vs. Facebook below:

That’s what I call from grace. So what can friendster do to reverse the effect? It seems the folks at friendster believe a change at the top could help them right the ship. I am sure having a different strategy in Asia and hiring a new executive can be only good for friendster. But once you have fallen so low, your best bet would be getting devoured by a bigger social network. Unless there is a major catastrophe by the top guys in the social networking arena, friendster will remain what it’s been for the past year - irrelevant.
