Google has taken another step to world domination by introducing Chrome browser which at the very least beats IE 7 in most departments. Google has been the most innovative web company for years now but with their own browser and their entrace to the mobile OS market, they are now declaring an all out war against Microsoft. Google Chrome comes equipped with Google Gadgets technology which allows you to bookmark and use Web applications without accessing your browser. Chrome is not available for Mac platform at this moment but Google has indicated to desire to introduce a Mac version soon.

If you haven’t checked out JobFox, then you probably should. JobFox claims to be the #1 Site for Employer Introductions. JobFox has a sophisticated system that matches you and your skills with the needs of the employers. In essence, JobFox is Harmony.com meets LinkedIn. I am not sure how successful this site will be but it’s a very interesting concept. Who says finding jobs online is dead.

Firefox 3.0 or Flock? That seems to be the question that people are most interested about. Firefox 3 is the best browser that we have available anywhere hands down. Opera and Safari are good browsers but they don’t quite stand up to Firefox. But the new browser Flock (which is based on Mozilla), has a few Web 2.0 features that sets it apart from Firefox. Among the features that you would get with Flock is the ability to interact with multiple social sites at the same time. So in terms of being more efficient, Flock has a slight advantage over Firefox. But as Ed Dale from the ThirtyDayChallenge also mentioned in his video series, while Flock is great, you can certaily use Firefox to achieve the same tasks. But whatever you do, stop using IE, like now!
There is no question that Del.icio.us is one the most popular sites on the net. We use it heavily to keep our bookmarks tidy. But yesterday, we noticed some new design and changes. We thought that it was part of a multivariate testing for the site, but it seems Yahoo! has finally released the new version of del.icio.us, and they have made it official as well.
Here are the early thoughts on this release:
- The look and feel is much better than before. The site is a pleasure to look at right now. Thank you Yahoo!
- Sorting has been improved and you have more options for sorting now. That’s very cool!
- The speed seems to have improved a bit.
- The URL has changed. It’s now finally delicious. Can’t imagine how much the dude who owned the domain was paid for giving it up to Yahoo!
There are other changes that I am sure will be found out as soon as people get their hands on this new interface. You can check the new interface of delicious here.

TrueKnowledge is another one of those startups that is trying to change the way people search for things. But unlike other search engines, it uses natural language processing, which makes it easier for people to search more conveniently. At the same time, it uses stocked knowledge to answer to some of the more obvious questions such as “the capital of Greenland?” I personally liked the idea of storing knowledge and not web pages. God knows how many pages are on the web that basically say the same thing over and over. Just like Cuil, this one is one to look out for.

I actually thought it was a great game. I don’t know if you are familiar with the knifing game, but this FaceBook App allowed users to knife each other. Shank was removed by FaceBook due to it being a violent form of poking. It’s true that “shanking” mayh not be appropriate for children, but I think it’s perfectly acceptable for adults who want to use it on FaceBook. FaceBook is no longer just for kids anymore, so I don’t understand why FaceBook would remove the application without asking the users first. I think for FaceBook to truly become a community, it needs to factor in what its users want. It’s all about the consumer, remember?

FaceBook’s highly criticized App for the iPhone finally got an upgrade for the iPhone 3G. The first version was regarded as a useless buggy mobile application. However, the new version has been praised by the very same detractors. Now you can upload and tag photos more conveniently. You can also run on others’ walls which was a big part missing in the first version. This mobile application is going for free on iTunes.
